Mother's Embrace looks straight down on a mother and child curled together on a patterned woven rug, her auburn hair bowed over the top of the child's head as she holds them close. The warm mustard gold of her shawl, with its stitched leaf and berry motifs, wraps around soft taupe and cream tones, while the muted olive border of the rug frames the scene like a nest. There's a quiet, folded-in stillness to the whole piece, the kind of closeness that needs no faces to feel utterly tender.
With its warm, earthy palette this would sit beautifully in a bedroom wall art setting or above a sofa in a living room, bringing a gentle, grounded warmth to the space. Every piece at Gallery 23 is hand-painted to order by our own artists, available as a rolled canvas or framed canvas art, in a choice of sizes.
