Lemon Gust twists up the canvas like a single plait of wind caught mid-motion, built from thick ribbons of lemon yellow and golden ochre that coil against streaks of black and soft mauve. The surrounding white ground is left bare, letting that one spiralling column do all the talking. There's a real sense of movement and warmth to it, loose and lively rather than still.
With its narrow, upward-reaching form, this one works well above a sofa, in a hallway, or filling a quiet corner that needs a lift of colour. Each piece is hand-painted to order by our artists at Gallery 23, available as a rolled canvas or framed, in a choice of sizes to suit your wall.
