Red Sail Among White looks straight down onto a churning expanse of deep ultramarine and teal sea, where a ring of white-sailed boats circles one vessel marked out by a vivid crimson sail. Thick palette knife strokes build up the water into ridges of texture, catching pale silvery light between the waves. The mood is fresh and breezy, full of quiet nautical energy and gentle movement.
With its bold aerial composition and rich depth of colour, this piece suits a large wall above a sofa or sits well in a hallway where its texture catches passing light.
